With a pen in my hand and a friend in the other

The first step toward a downward spiral
I just wanted to show the real me or the purpose of my being
Just to find out years later that I made a simple mistake

In hopes of finding something new I am left with nothing more than a mixed up mess. The streets are welcoming but with no talk. Smoking buildings just stare with eyes that can walk. A magnetic energy forcing me away from what I know, maybe for the better. But cry, I will never. This city may have lost its sight but that doesn't mean I will lose my mind.

Those clichéd words that we’ve all heard
In those romantic films
Not even waiting for the moment
When the kiss ends it all
That loving touch
A moment that we wish would last forever
But it can only last so long
We have
Such a distance
Between us
And yet we still have something more powerful than words an indefinable connection
That ties us together like a thread
And let’s our heart strings play
We love with the waves beating on our side
Stronger than anything we understand
We let ourselves go into the water
Dragging our strings through the (sand)
The violent current drags our feet
Under the waves
In the twisting and turning
Our strings connected
Letting us finally know
After so much time
What it’s like to be connected
We sank to our most blissful fate
